(LEET ‘08)

LEET has evolved from the combination of two other successful workshops, the ACM Workshop on Recurring Malcode (WORM) and the USENIX Workshop on Hot Topics in Understanding Botnets (HotBots), and will focus on the underlying mechanisms used to compromise and control hosts, the large-scale “applications” being perpetrated upon this framework, and the social and economic networks driving these threats. Sessions include Attacker Behavior; Measurements, Uncertainties, and Legal Issues; New issues; and more.

NSDI ‘08 Early Bird Registration Deadline: March 24

Join us in San Francisco, CA, April 16-18, for NSDI ‘08. The 5th USENIX Symposium on Networked Systems Design and Implementation focuses on the design and implementation principles of large-scale networks and distributed systems.

This year’s outstanding program includes 30 technical papers carefully selected from a pool of 175 submissions. These high-quality papers represent a diverse range of hot research areas including energy, scale, security, and fault tolerance.

Just added! The program begins with a keynote address by Ian Pratt, Senior Lecturer, University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory, and Fellow, King’s College Cambridge.

USENIX Announces Open Access to Conference Proceedings

USENIX is pleased to announce open public access to all its conference proceedings.

This significant decision will allow universal access to some of the most important technical research in advanced computing. In making this move USENIX is setting the standard for open access to information, an essential part of its mission.

NSDI ‘08 Poster Session Submission Deadline: March 10, 2008

NSDI ‘08 will feature a poster session during which attendees can discuss emerging ideas in networked systems design by talking with leading researchers who are introducing their ongoing work. To submit a poster, please send a proposal, one page or less, by March 10, 2008, to nsdi08posters@usenix.org. The poster session co-chairs will send back decisions by March 23, 2008.
