Usability, Psychology, and Security 2008 will bring together an interdisciplinary group of researchers, systems designers, and developers to discuss how the fields of human computer interaction, applied psychology, and computer security can be brought together to inform innovations in secure systems design. Online registration is now open and the program is available.

First USENIX Workshop on Large-Scale Exploits and Emergent Threats
(LEET ’08)

LEET has evolved from the combination of two other successful workshops, the ACM Workshop on Recurring Malcode (WORM) and the USENIX Workshop on Hot Topics in Understanding Botnets (HotBots), and will focus on the underlying mechanisms used to compromise and control hosts, the large-scale “applications” being perpetrated upon this framework, and the social and economic networks driving these threats. Sessions include Attacker Behavior; Measurements, Uncertainties, and Legal Issues; New issues; and more. Online registration is now open and the program is available.
